Crucial Conversations Continues

Over the past two weeks, we have continued our journey in our Crucial Conversations series. On January 10, Jon Osmond delved into our time in prayer and our conversations with God. If you missed his sermon or want to listen to it again, please visit our Mixcloud site.

Jan 10.16 // Crucial Conversations through Prayer – Jon Osmond by Freechurch Toronto on Mixcloud

This past Sunday, we were so fortunate to have Trevor Seath, Regional Director for C2C,  lead us as a guest preacher at FreeChurch. Trevor continued our Crucial Conversations series focussing on John 4. Trevor examined how Jesus’ conversation with the Samaritan woman at the well is a beautiful illustration of how to engage others in conversation about their relationship with God.

FreshStart: Matched with a Family

A few months ago, members of FreeChurch came together as a group called FreshStart to commit to sponsoring a refugee family fleeing war in Syria. We are now excited to announce that we have been matched with a refugee family! It is a family of four from Syria currently residing in Jordan – Ahmad (33), Alaa (23) and their two sons Yaman and Ibrahim (6 and 4). We are praying for this family as they begin this dramatic life change. We are preparing our hearts to welcome them warmly with grace and compassion. We are excited about new friendships and a fresh start for this family. While we don’t know the exact date of arrival, we believe it is in the next two months. Soon we will be asking for support in collecting furniture, appliances, bedding, clothing, toys and school supplies.
A huge thank you to FreeChurch and our friends and families for giving so generously so far. FreshStart has successfully raised $18,000 of our $30,000 goal. If you feel called to give financially to help this young family of four, you may do so in person at our FreeChurch services or online at our YouCaring site.
