Jon Osmond Appointed Senior Pastor

Senior Pastor AnnouncementThe elders have asked Jon Osmond who has been serving admirably as our Interm Senior Pastor since Cyril’s departure to serve as our permanent Senior Pastor.  We couldn’t be more happy that he will continue to serve at FreeChurch in this capacity.  Jon is a man of great character, wisdom, and vision.  His passion for God, for Toronto and for FreeChurch have been evident throughout his time here with us, first as a member, then as a living room leader, then as the planting pastor and most recently as the Interm Senior Pastor.

Since Cyril stepped down, the elders have been going though a fairly lengthy process of determining where God is leading FreeChurch and if Jon was the right leader for us.  After much prayer, hearing Jon’s vision for the church, reflecting on how that aligns with the vision that we believe God is revealing to us, and work done on defining the Mission, Vision and Values of our Church, consulting with some wise people inside and outside of our church and the MBs,  we are thrilled to be confirming what I think many of us suspected and hoped for all along, that Jon is the person God desires to lead our church into the future.

We will be having a formal induction service in the near future to help us prayerfully welcome Jon and bestow this ordinance on him.  Details on that will follow.

Thank you for your patience in these 3 months of transition.  Transition time can be difficult and can cause anxiety, so we thank you for your positive response to that.

We are so excited for what God has in store for our church in the future.  He is good and his love and faithfulness endure.

If you have any questions around the process please feel free to reach out to any of the elders.
